انا من هذه القرية الطيبة التي ابى من مواليدها كنت دائما اسمع منه عن جمالها وشجاعة اهلها وطيبتهم وعندما استطعت الدخول عبر الموقع اليها وقرات عنها ورايت بعضا من معالمها سررت وحزنت في نفس الوقت ارجوا من الله ان يميتنا فيها

The only reason I am writing this in English is, that I don't have an arabic browser and I can't wait to get one.
I visited my village in 1971 when I was 12 years old. since then, I visited it thousands of times in my heart and soul.
My father who died in 1992, at the age of 86 had always talked about Miskeh and he was sure that one day he'll return to her.
He refused to buy any piece of land anywhere else because he believed that no place on Earth would come close it's amber soil. It's no wonder that he passed his dream to the upcoming generations.

Amending fences

Creative protest against the fencing off of the Miska village school house

Saturday, 25 June 2005 from 5:00 p.m. ؟ 10:00 p.m

The displaced Palestinians from Miska and Zochrot invite you take part in an act of creative protest against the fencing off of the Miska village school house. The Israel Lands Administration and the Green Commando (Sayeret Yeruka) recently locked the structure, one of the last remains of the village, in response to the renewed cultural activities of the villagers there.

We will transform the fence from a structure that obstructs the memory of the village to one that sustains it. Artists will take on the task with us. The following have promised to participate: Micki Kratzman, Boaz Arad, Nomi Simantov, Chaim Deuell Lusky, Avi Mograbi, Arik Shapira, Makbula Nasar, Yair Garbuz, Yitzhak Laor, Roi Rozen, Michal Shamir, Efrat Natan, Horit Herman Peled, Dana Levi, Tamar Geter, Aya Ben Ron, Tzibi Geva, David Tartakover, Michal Neeman, Ori Kleiner, Rap Band. On the program: Art gallery on the fence, signposting, music performance, installation, films.

Hundreds of people have already visited Miska with us over the past four years, and the construction of the fence is a response to this growing interest as well. Therefore it is our obligation to be there to express solidarity with the displaced people of the village. We have information that the Green Commando may be present, which makes it even more important for us to be in Miska on Saturday.

הדבר קרה אחרי שעקורי מיסכה החלו בביקורים במבנה היחיד שנותר מכפרם. הם נפגשו בו בשעות הערב מידי כמה ימים ואף אירחו בו את ההצגה "זיכרון" של סלמן נטור, העוסקת בזיכרון של הנכבה הפלסטינית. מנעילת המבנה בגדר אפשר להבין שהמנהל מפחד מהעלאת הזיכרון של הנכבה. כאשר נשאלה דוברת המנהל ע"י עיתונאי לפשר הפעולה הקיצונית בה נקט, השיבה ש"מפקחי המנהל והסיירת הירוקה הבחינו כי קיימת פלישה למבנה. בחיפוש שנערך לא נמצאו הפולשים ומעט הציוד שלהם סולק. המפקחים סגרו את המבנה כדי למנוע פלישה חוזרת". בעולם ההפוך בו אנו חיים התושבים בני הארץ הם "פולשים" והמתנחלים הקולוניאליים הם המפקחים.

Yesterday, 15 June 2005, the Israel Lands Administration closed the school at the village of Miska with a locked gate and fence. http://www.nakbainhebrew.org/index.php?id=211

This happened after the displaced people of Miska began visiting the structure ؟ the only standing remnant of their village. The refugees had been meeting there in the evenings every few days, and even used the structure to put on the play "Memory" by Salman Natour, a work that deals with the memory of the Palestinian Nakba.

The action taken by the ILA to close the structure is a clear indication that they are afraid of the memory of the Nakba being expressed. When a journalist asked the ILA spokesperson to explain the extreme action, she responded that "inspectors of the ILA and the Sayeret Yeruka noticed that there was an infiltration. In a search that was conducted, the trespassers were not found and some of equipment was removed. The supervisors closed the structure to prevent future trespassing." In the upside down world we are living in, the residents born in this land become "trespassers" and those who trespass their rights are "inspectors."

The displaced people of Miska and Zochrot will not give up preserving the memory and the struggle for return to the village even after another fence as been built to discourage us.

We will never forget Miska, it is lived for ever in our hearts, souls and bodies. Insha'allah, one day we will return back and rebuild our schools mosque and make it green as it was before the savages destroyed it.

Dear Miska's former inhabitants:

In March 2002, I visited Miska so I can share with you some pictures from your former village. In the pictures section at Miska's homepage, you can see some of the villages' remaining structures, such as the school, other structures or homes, some retaining walls, and in the Orange grove there are the remains of the village mosque. Currently, your land is being used and harvested by Moshav Mishmeret (or collective farming community).

While I was there, I aslo saw Palestinian-Israelis internal refugees who came to remember their village on the Israeli Independence day (or Nakba Day for Palestinians). I met some former inhabitant from Shbeta family who all say hello to you and soon they will be with you online to share their experiences.

Dear All:

I am from Meska and my draem one day to go back and live there again. Meske stay waiting for us, and if God is willing we'll ALL come back.

Wesam and Reyam, Toni the nephews (a7fad) Umm Adli Shbeta (who lives in Teiret all-Muthalsth) promise Meska to come back at the earlist possible chance.
